If you look in the car settings menus, you should find an entry for System Information.

Hi Tonyj / htpeargo,

I tried your 3 post codes in my Mib2 SatNav -
ST17 4JL
NR7 0PW
CV37 0AH

They were all found and the map showed the correct locations.

If the problem only affects certain post codes, then it is most likely due to the map data, so check the version you have as per my earlier post and below. Hawkeye (and others) had some issues with post codes on the Mib2 system and these were fixed with map updates.

If you can't enter any post codes, that could still be due to the map data but might also be an issue with the Infotainment software which only the dealer can update.

I would check/update the map data first and if the problem persists then you should ask the dealer if there are any software updates for the Infotainment system. Even if you report this as a fault, VW are likely to say it is in the map data and that they are not responsible as it is from a third party and you need to take it up with them. We all know that is nonsense, as it is VW who have a contract with the third party to supply map data and only they have sufficient clout to get anything fixed. Sadly, we know they don't do this for the vanishing speed limits.

There are 2 places where the Mib2 map version can be found, but yours may be different. The first is using the Menu touch button on the right side of the Infotainment screen, scroll right and select Settings then scroll down to find System Information. For the second, touch the Settings icon in the SatNav map view then scroll to find Version Information.

Yes it's a strange one ... the manual was written long before the R appeared, yet it describes the Performance Monitor in great detail. The manual is full of similar confusion and often small print will say 'may depend on equipment levels and country' without providing details.

Don’t worry - you’re not missing much. Mostly a gimmick unless you’re doing a track day.

And if you're doing a track day, you'll go through a hedge looking at it anyway   ;)

Right Guys I think I may have found answers to some of the issues. Firstly Mib 3 is totally new to Mib 2. The new Trocs with mib3 head units have a built in Sim paid for 3 years by VW to give access to the internet. We car connect gives you access to a number of features. One being a free tracker. You must make sure your privacy settings are open to allow background updates to take place. I now have postcode updates on satnav. Blue trainer as depicted in manual and on web appears in a different format in the digital cluster as individual icons. Hope this helps.

Friend has bought Tiguan - on satnav he can’t use a contact address on his Bluetoothed iPhone as a satnav destination.

You try and select from contacts by browsing and picking the address icon within the contact (that shows an address and postcode) but it then just displays a blank destination address page with something like “no address data” - and not even a postcode field to enter!

I have also been told about the same fault on a 2019 A3.

Can you pick an address from your phone contacts in satnav?
