Has anyone on here ever been asked to complete a satisfaction survey ? I've purchased many new VW cars over the past 20+ years and I've never been asked once.
Both of the dealerships I bought my T-Rocs from filled in a VW customer satisfaction survey with all questions scored as 5 out of 5 and then quickly mentioned the survey by saying “you didn’t have any problems did you? So we’ll file the survey on your behalf.”

It’s totally shady and completely pointless. I suspect VW aren’t aware dealerships are doing this even though it’s clearly not a minority doing it.

Your dealership probably did the same but didn’t even mention it to you.

The survey would have been given to you on collection day. But yeah they don’t call you to ask how you are enjoying your new car (even though they say they will), they are too busy putting their hand in the next person’s pocket

I completed a questionaire following my first service in March this year .. due to a couple of niggly points I scored them an overall 3 out of 5. Within 24 hours the the Manager phoned me to query the score and told me that anything less than a 5 out of 5 rating is looked upon quite seriously by VW. I held my ground and told him I had sympathetically scored them as a 3 and that he should feel lucky I hadn't scored them lower. He didn't have much more to say after that. Little wonder they prefer to complete these surveys themselves :!: :!:

It surprises me VW even care about these scores given how little they seem to care about producing high quality feeling cars anymore. Specially with the way they handled the kangaroo issue as if it didn’t matter and “sod the customer”.

There can be and are several differnt types of survey. The first is at point of delivery and obviously too early for owners to make any comments on the car design or reliability so it is just about the condition at delivery and the dealer hand over. The second survey is at the time of a service and is usually just to comment on the dealer rather than the car. The one that no one ever gets is when approached directly by VW to give feedback on the design, quality, performance and reliability of the car.

I'm sure most of us here on the forum would have a mix of positives and negatives, but that's what leads to improvments.

Exactly, they're missing a simple trick here. :P
